Michael Averill is a gifted songwriter, buttery multi-instrumentalist, and enthralling storyteller. He is both peripatetic and deeply rooted, touring four continents and every centimetre of Canada over the past 20 years (okay, not every centimetre, but a lot of them!) and serving as a mentor, producer, cheerleader, and inspiration to singer songwriters in the communities where he has lived. Michael will be joined by Vancouver’s Diane Barbarash.

walk across Canada—Michael blends his experiences as a musician and community builder to help those he engages to forge meaningful bonds and foster environments where every voice is valued.
Onstage, Michael’s performance versatility ranges from southern lap steel slide blues, to intricate finger-style folk, to driving shanties about mismatched socks. He combines buttery guitar licks and philosophical wordplay into the perfect blend of playful and sensitive, and leads listeners through the ups and downs of life with a smile and curious heart.
About Diane
Diane Barbarash is a songwriter, recording artist, and healer based in Vancouver, BC. Her songs have evolved over time from poetic splashes of art to more truthful and vulnerable commentaries on the struggles of life and love.
Diane’s recordings have found homes in art therapy books, fundraising calendars, and even story infused aerogrammes. Although she falls into the folk genre, she wears her cowgirl hat proudly!
