Edinburgh’s Simon Kempston is one of Scotland’s great singer-songwriters and guitarists. His beautifully crafted material showcase his distinctive, intricate fingerstyle guitar work, and his gently nuanced, compelling tenor vocals. East Van’s own guitar slinging songwriter, Jesse Waldman, will open.

There are very few artists who manage to create a sound on an acoustic guitar which is distinctive, instantly recognisable. Simon’s complex finger-picking style, which draws from the disparate genres of classical, celtic and blues (amongst others) confirms he is certainly one such artist, his subtle style providing the perfect accompaniment for his rich, powerful and compelling tenor vocals.
Simon has performed across the world in 38 countries and counting. Having toured for more than a decade internationally, he has countless experience of major festivals, television and radio appearances whilst his acclaimed life performances are intense, impassioned and unmissable.
