Karla Mundy is a profoundly soulful vocalist whose meticulous expressive control makes her preformances as thrilling as they are moving. More than that, she is an paragon of community music-making in Vancouver and beyond. Michael Creber is one of the West Coast’s sought-after musical collaborators, whether as a pianist, composer, arranger, or producer. Together, they weave seamlessly across genres, tight enough to reflect their longstanding work together, but always with breathing room for playfulness and improvisation in the moment.

About Karla
Karla Mundy is a vibrant, soulful and diverse vocalist, pianist, arranger and choir leader. She conducts community choirs in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Bowen Island and Nanaimo. Karla leads harmony singing workshops and performs extensively throughout BC and Alberta. She also organizes workshops and music trips through her organization SongRoots. (www.songroots.ca)

She is a founding member of The Shirleys, an all-female acapella sextet; TriVo, a vocal trio with Brian Tate and Dawn Pemberton; and Plough, an old-time string quartet.

Karla specializes in vocal traditions and rhythms, and is passionate about “getting music off the page” and learning to embody the rhythm of the music.

About Michael
Michael Creber is a Grammy-nominated and Juno Award-winning artist who was dubbed “a cross between Floyd Cramer and Thelonius Monk” by one LA reviewer. As one of the West Coast’s most sought-after musicians, Michael pursues a wide-ranging career as a pianist, film composer, arranger and producer; embracing many genres of music including jazz, latin, folk, R&B and rock.  He has performed  with symphony orchestras across North America and has recorded and toured internationally with k.d. lang (including performances on Saturday Night Live, the Grammy Awards, Arsenio Hall, Austin City Limits and six appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson), the Irish Rovers (including 36 television specials) and world-renowned family entertainer Raffi (including performances on Broadway and at President Clinton’s first inauguration). He co-produced and co-wrote 3 albums with Raffi including their 1994 hit CD, Bananaphone. Other luminaries Michael has worked with include Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Martin Short, Joan Rivers, Bob Newhart, The Rankin Sisters, Shirley Bassey, Powder Blues, Jim Byrnes, Dee Daniels and Valdy. Michael has released four albums of original music: Brand New Smile, Dancers of the Spheres, Smooth Sailing and Songs For My Baby.
