TIM READMAN: ALBUM RELEASE LISTENING PARTY

TIM READMAN: ALBUM RELEASE LISTENING PARTY

SATURDAY, 7 September 2024  |  DOORS AT 19:30, MUSIC FROM 20:00

Vancouver’s Tim Readman is celebrating the release of a new album: Songs from Eighth & Eight. The work is titled for the arts and community space initiative, led by Massey Theatre in New West, where Tim was an artist-in-residence and where the songs were written. Although he’s an accomplished performer, touring broadly throughout North America, Europe, and the UK, on this night, Tim will be DJing his new record, rather than performing it live, providing commentary along the way. Songs from Eighth & Eight stands as a collection of protest songs, deeply relevant to our present moment, exploring themes of climate change, political conflict, and social inequality.

About Tim
Tim Readman is a musician, singer, songwriter, producer and music journalist. Although best known locally for his work in the field of folk/Celtic music, Tim has performed with soul, ska, punk, pop and rock bands over his decades as a musician in England, Europe, the USA and Canada. On Songs from Eighth & Eight he has brought together all of this experience to create a diverse collection of contemporary protest songs. Climate change, political conflict and social inequality are just some of the themes explored. All the songs were written at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.
